Septrin is used to treat respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis as well as urinary tract infections including bladder or kidney infections. It is sometimes used to treat intestinal infections caused by certain types of bacteria.
Septrin is also used to prevent or treat some serious infections in patients with weakened immune systems such as those with HIV or patients undergoing immunosuppressive therapy.
